Reduced water pollution
Sedum has the capacity to filter and absorb many harmful particles that contaminate rainfall and other precipitation, thereby improving the quality of surface run-off.  Run-off can then be recovered and used for any non-drinking needs; watering lawns, washing cars - all you need is an appropriate tank or cistern.

Compensatory solution
In the case of heavy rainfall, a green roof acts like a sponge and absorbs up to 10 liters of water per square meter. During violent storms, it can help reduce overflow of storm drains, capping off rainwater levels through retention.
